Beautiful hand-painted Dellftsblauw wall dish after a painting by Hendrik Willem Mesdag (1831-1915). Mesdag belonged to the Hague School and was a famous painter of Scheveningen 'bomschuiten', simple open vessels with flat bottom that can beach easily.  His most famous work was Scheveningen Panorama Mesdag.

The world famous Delft pottery has a rich history, which goes back to the time of the V.O.C. (Dutch East-India Company).

Of the ca. 32 pottery bakeries, Royal Delft is the only remaining factory in Delft.
